Job description
We are seeking a PCA who will primarily function as the clinical scheduler for Heaton Woods Residence in Montpelier.

In their role as a clinical scheduler, this person would be able to accomplish the following:

Maintain and implement the scheduling for clinical staff based on shift and coverage for each position.

Reports clinical vacancies to the Director of Human Resources and works closely with them to fill any existing vacancies as needed.

Communicates to the Director of Nursing, Administrator and Director of Human Resources any critical staffing shortages that have the potential to create an unsafe environment for residents.

Provides staffing to cover for any leave of absence.

Communicates with Charge Nurse, as needed regarding day-to-day changes.

Makes Director of Nursing and Director of Human Resources aware of any employee that has repeated attendance issues or callouts.

Communicate with staff using multiple channels, i.e. in-person, phone, texting and/or emails in regards to their schedule.

This person will also be required to fill in on the floor as a PCA as needed, such as in the case of a critical staffing shortage.

The skills and qualifications for this person would be as follows:

Must have excellent communication skills, especially verbal/oral communication

Must be able to work as part of a team, i.e., must be an excellent team player

Possession of good organizational and leadership abilities is a prerequisite

Ability to work with little or no supervision

Good interpersonal skills

He/she must prove to be extremely reliable

Must have excellent time management abilities.

Computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft products and when to work program.

Ability to analyze company procedures to make improvements

1-2 years of prior scheduling experience required. At least 2 years of previous PCA experience required.
