POSITION SUMMARY
Clinical Informatics Analyst position has the primary responsibility of supporting clinical applications in the organization including the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
This position participates in performance improvement of systems implemented/utilized and interfaced with the EMR. This position also engages in significant interaction with physicians, clinical staff, vendors, support personnel, administration, peers, and others to optimize the usage of clinical applications through education and training, quality outcomes, and providing support in accordance with organizational goals.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of an Associate’s degree in healthcare related field or information technology; or equivalent education and experience. Desired background would include clinical care, Registered or Licensed Practical Nursing experience.

- Demonstrate understanding of how clinicians would maximize the use of the EMR in rendering quality patient care and analysis of information.
- Effective communication skills and attention to detail, with effective follow-through and commitment to excellence, as well as the ability to provide clear and accurate directions and able to train others.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with experience in working under pressure with precision and accuracy.
- Ability to cope with rapidly changing priorities and continual backlog of work.
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
- Computer Hardware – Basic knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware.
- Computer Software – Working knowledge of MS Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook.
- Healthcare Applications Software –Working knowledge of Epic EMR and experienced in working with other EMR interfaced applications
- Troubleshooting - Determining root causes of errors and deciding appropriate course of action.
- Systems Analysis - Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes
- Education-

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze and understand clinical and business problems and make solution recommendations that meet the organizational goals of maintaining these application systems.
- Provide a secure, effective, integrated patient care delivery system that continually improves outcomes, reduces cost, increases efficiency, and enhances patient experiences.
- Collaborate with clinicians and end users of the system to support testing, training, implementing, evaluating, and maintaining the Epic EMR, and other associated systems.
- Coordinate analysis and documentation of clinical workflows, identifying needed process changes, and optimization of current functionalities.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of hospital leadership, clinicians, physicians, and ancillary department staff.
- Support healthcare staff in decision-making, design, education, and implementation of the EMR and related processes.
- Work with minimal supervision while assisting with parts of a project or process within the department and organization.
- Understand technically, how clinical systems interrelate with other applications.
- Submit tickets/requests for EMR issues, changes, or new functionality.
- Keep stakeholders informed of the status of their questions/requests.
- Seek out direction from other Analysts or the Clinical Informatics Manager and include appropriate people in the decision-making process when necessary.
- Demonstrate effective time management skills.
- Assist the Clinical Informatics Manager in policy review and other compliance related activities.
- Achieve project objectives and task completion on time as part of project teams.
- Provide customer service in a complex healthcare environment and work effectively with end users of the Epic EMR and other related applications.
