CLINICAL CARE MANAGER - - $5,000 Sign on bonus
Behavioral Crisis Center

Summary:
The Clinical Care Manager will serve as a member of the Behavioral Crisis Center leadership team. This individual will be responsible for the daily management and supervision needs of the Rapid Access Unit. This supervision will include direct reports in the following job categories: Behavioral Health Consultants, Behavioral Health Technicians and Peer Support Specialists. The Clinical Care Manager will also provide clinic support to nurses, providers and client access in conjunction with the departmental leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs supervisory duties of front-line behavioral crisis center staff according to service line. Provides on-call after-hours support for supervised staff according to service line. Navigates client care and complaints, delegating interventions as appropriate.
  • Assists BCC leadership in interviewing and hiring all applicable departmental staff per departmental needs. Precepts or delegates training for new hires, ensuring appropriate training and onboarding is complete.
  • Meets with staff regularly for departmental needs and updates; methods of meetings may be in-person, telephonic, or via video conference. Conducts check-ins, supervision and annual performance evaluations with supervised staff.
  • Communicates with clients regarding questions and needs.
  • Serves as liaison between administrative (leadership-level) staff and supervised team. Monitors, evaluates, assists with, and develops workflow processes in coordination with Behavioral Crisis Center Director, other administrative staff, and executive teams.
  • Implements team development and training on an ongoing basis.
  • Reviews daily documentation completed by the team. This includes but is not limited to: progress notes, incident reports, shift reports and other communication methods. Ensures timely documentation for direct reports and performs chart audits.
  • Completes monthly data collection to Department of Mental Health and other required entities.
  • Orders supplies for the service line, as appropriate.
  • Develops and documents counseling memos and corrective action plans for supervised staff in coordination with the Behavioral Crisis Center Director, and Human Resources.
  • Provides immediate feedback to staff as necessary for growth and development of roles within the clinic. Evaluates effectiveness of workflow and documentation methods for supervised staff, reporting any barriers or changes needed to Behavioral Crisis Center Director.
  • Monitors for and escalates any clinical intervention concerns immediately to Behavioral Crisis Center Director.
  • Supports community outreach with the Behavioral Crisis Center Director as needed for development of referral pathways and community relationships.
  • Manages time cards in workday and generates staff schedules to include: monitoring and approving time off, overtime, PRN coverage and other workday requests.
  • Coordinate facility cleanliness and maintenance activities within appropriate Burrell systems. This includes arranging for purchases, repairs and replacement of necessary RAU equipment.
  • Coordinate within appropriate Burrell systems to keep records on health and safety requirements and inspections as well as facility drills.
  • Functions in accordance with Burrell Behavioral Health Operational Guidelines and within their professional code of ethics
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Master degree in a human services or related field required. Valid Missouri licensure as a licensed behavioral health provider at the masters or doctoral level; one year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Secures client information and maintains confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records. Knowledge and implementation of safeguarding protected health information by methods such as maintaining private user names and passwords, encryption, and other methods as indicated.
  • Shall successfully complete CPR, First Aid, CPI and Medication Administration training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as lab results, notes and documents within an electronic health record, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and clear correspondence via multiple methods, and in various platforms. Communicates effectively and therapeutically to clients, family members, employees, and other contacts within the community in-person, via telephone, and via video conferencing.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to problem solve involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
