Certificates and Licenses: Additional certification may be required and specific information and the timeframe in which such certification must be attained will be provided by the department director/manager/supervisor at time of hire/transfer into department.
Performs basic clerical and receptionist duties by maintaining the physical environment of the area. Transcribes physician's orders, copies records, relays messages, prepares, compiles and maintains various records.
Position Summary:
Collect patient identification, demographic information, and insurance information.- Obtain patients orders electronically and or outreach orders.
- Research test/client information on all outreach patient orders and confirm or verify all written and faxed orders by utilizing the Quest Diagnostics Directory of Services.
- Perform all non-patient facing duties, filling, faxing of chain of custody control forms, clarifying of test in question orders, restock office supplies, sanitizing of office area and waiting room.
- Managing of patient standing orders.
- Provide internal and external customer assistance with a positive service orientated attitude, including proper telephone etiquette.
- Capable of handling multiple priorities and ability to provide quality error free work in a high-volume setting.
- Maintains fax queue.
- Prepares, maintains, and files patient’s orders.
- Maintains current knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT Codes.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of all computer systems within the department.
- Utilize and maintain office equipment, fax machine, printer, phone, vaulte, labeler, scanner, and computer.
- Tracks daily patient wait time and volume.
- Cooperates in the completion of additional duties as assigned.
