Overview:

Our client, one of the largest Energy companies in US providing a wide range of Energy related products and services to its customers, seeks accomplished Climate Science Analyst.

*** Candidate must be authorized to work in USA without requiring sponsorship ***

*** Duration: 6 months contract, w/ possibility of extension

Notes:

· This position is three days onsite at 4 Irving Place, New York, NY, and two days remote.

· Remote access capability from a personal computer is required, there will be a desktop in the office for use.

· Work Schedule: 9:00am - 5:30pm Eastern Time.

· Covid-19 vaccination is required.

Description:

· Looking for a highly motivated individual to help advance climate resilience at company. They are updating their Climate Change Vulnerability Study to assess impact of climate change on company's assets, planning and operations.

· The intent of the study is to review climate projections based on the latest climate science and develop recommendations to mitigate or eliminate risk through adaption measures.

· The individual will interact with various subject matter experts to obtain information required to meet inquiries by the climate subject matter experts and assist with the evaluations performed by SMEs on suggested adaptation measures to respond to climate change projections.

· The individual will review drafts of reports provided by a consultant.

· The individual will also assist in coordinating information exchange among all subject matter experts, auditing progress, fact checking documentation such as the costs and benefits of recommended measures and consolidating results into succinct reports and presentations..

Qualifications:

· Required degree (BA/BS) and/or MBA (preferred) in engineering, environmental policy, or a related subject.

· The position requires working capabilities with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint along with appropriate writing/editing skills.

· Should have a level of knowledge of Electric and/or engineering design (Gas or Steam is extra).

· An understanding of the technical aspects of the utility electric system.

· A basic understanding of climate science and experience with the management of multiple entities including outside consultants are preferred.

· A basic or working knowledge of climate variables, climate change projections and their impact on energy systems is preferred.

· Has a demonstrated ability to make meaningful contributions to the evaluation of climate adaptation strategies.

· Can create informative materials to communicate company's adaptation strategies to various internal and external entities.
