We have a customer located in Lexington, Massachusetts that is looking for resources with VMware experience/expertise along with active DOD Secret Clearance to perform an onsite Virtual Infrastructure Assessments for two separate secure environments that each have their own dedicated virtual/physical environments.
There will be no capabilities to utilize any external and/or Cloud based tools as this is a secured environment with no egress capabilities. Any/all tools utilized will have to be first reviewed and approved by the customer before they can be used in their environment in an offline mode. No data can be removed from the facility and environments. Additional rules/requirements may be governed by the customer.
Tasks to be performed in the work
- VMware Health Check, Assessment, Best Practices & Recommendations
- Validate vSphere ESXi is configured properly & for industry best practices
- Validate Standard/DVS switches are configured properly & for industry best practices
- Validate vCenter is configured properly & for industry best practices
- Validate Horizon is configured properly & for industry best practices
- Validate VMs are configured properly & for industry best practices (i.e. H/W Version, etc.)
- Assess the Cisco compute platforms are in-line with current standards (i.e. BIOS versions, Firmware version, Performance Concerns, Support/Maintenance Lifecycle, etc.)
- Assess the NetApp storage platformed are in-line with current standards (i.e. OS versions, Firmware versions for platform and disks, Performance Concerns, Support/Maintenance Lifecycle, etc.)
- Network Switches are OPTIONAL. IF we can do the service for Brocade & Juniper networks, than:
- Assess each Juniper & Brocade switches to be in-line with current standards (i.e. OS versions, Performance Concerns, Support/Maintenance Lifecycle, etc.)
- Provide Best Practices and Recommendations on all of the above (Network is optional).
