TCCAPSA Benefits Summary - School Year

General Summary:
The Campus Security Assistant assists in providing a well-organized security program at the
Middle School or Senior High School. He/she reports to the administrator in charge of campus security.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• 
  Assists in the overall security of the Middle School/Senior High campus and students providing information to school administrators and law enforcement personnel as required.
• Provides parking information to students parking on school grounds.
• Issues citations to students for violations of school rules and procedures as requested.
• Maintains records of written citations as requested.
• Maintains records of campus violations.
• Writes referrals on students and sends referrals to the building assistant principal or the appropriate law enforcement agency per school procedure.
• Patrols the school grounds and the neighborhood areas as assigned.
• Assists in keeping campus free of intruders.
• Contacts neighbors and local businesses periodically for concerns they may have regarding students from the Senior High School.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• 
  Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma. Previous college credit, WorkKeys certification or college degree preferred.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students and school personnel.
• Previous experience working with children.
• Ability to care for, supervise, and nurture children.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to assist with maintaining records of student progress.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to resolve conflict.
• Dependable, reliable, and protective of sensitive/confidential information.
