Child Development Nutrition Manager
Job description
The Child Development Nutritionist is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that ensure compliance with Office of Early Childhood and Head Start Performance Standards related to nutrition. This includes up-dating and revising all forms, policies and procedures for the Nutrition content area. As well as supporting, monitoring and reviewing nutritional assessments, screenings and follow-up for all children in the Early Head Start, Head Start and Little Learners programs. The Child Development Nutrition Manager will act as a liaison between Child Development programs, and the Commissary.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a major in foods and nutrition sciences, community/clinical nutrition, nutrition education dietetics, or public health nutrition
- Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health statement signed by a physician, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner completed with twelve (12) months before the date of employment, and every twenty-four (24) months thereafter
- Provide a written report of negative tuberculin test completed within twelve (12) months prior to the date of employment, or for a known prior reactor, no evidence of active tuberculosis on a chest x-ray
- Must have access to reliable, insured transportation
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess strong organizational skills, with demonstrated abilities in problem solving and efficient in time management
- The TVCCA Child Development Program requires staff to be available from 7:00AM-5:00PM to cover center operational hours
