Position Summary

Reporting to our Senior Vice President (SVP) of Programs, the Chief of Staff, Programs, will be a strategic partner who manages and coordinates projects to advance firm priorities on behalf of the SVP. This person will shape programs team meetings and offsites, manage logistics for the Associates Program, and works closely with representatives of our programmatic focus areas on planning, budgeting, and internal communications. In addition, the Chief of Staff will serve as a liaison to teams across the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Support the SVP in defining priorities and aligning day-to-day activities accordingly.
  • Prepare the SVP for internal and external meetings, at times represent the SVP, while ensuring timely follow-through on action items.
  • Coordinate the Programs team by collecting inputs, synthesizing insights, and facilitating strategic decisions as part of annual planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.
  • Manage the logistics of the Associate Program across key stages of including but not limited to orientation, onboarding, development and offboarding.
  • Design and implement Programs team meetings and offsites, agenda planning, and content coordination.
  • Contribute to a culture of connection and celebration across the Programs team.
  • Ensures strong communication and collaboration between programmatic, functional and operations teams, engaging cross-functionally to coordinate and assist on annual planning, budgeting, performance reviews and other firm processes.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience, including experience managing projects, coordinating stakeholders, and supporting a senior executive as a strategic partner.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams with superb follow-through and attention to detail, including projects that require both independent sustained collaboration across multiple teams and time zones.
  • Exceptional detail orientation and writing, editing, and presentation skills, with attention to formats that support visual learning.
  • Passion for Omidyar Network's mission, interest in our programmatic focus areas, and demonstrated ability to get up to speed quickly.
  • High degree of comfort in stewarding strategic planning and organizational budgeting processes.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and establish credibility with partners, staff, and senior leaders from a diverse set of backgrounds.
  • Ability to have direct and difficult conversations with leaders and staff at all levels of the organization.

Location:

We are currently working in a hybrid capacity, and this position will be based out of our Washington DC or Redwood City (CA) offices. Candidates must have a current U.S. work authorization to be considered.

Compensation & Benefits:

This is a full-time, salaried position that features competitive pay and benefits, including health care (e.g. medical/dental/vision), paid time off, and a generous employer 401(k) contribution. The starting salary range will be $142,200 - $173,500 in the DMV (i.e. Washington DC, Maryland or Virginia) and $158,000 - $192,800 in Redwood City, CA.
