Description:

Manufactures (i.e. Formulates bulks, and Quality Controls) products (i.e. Lateral flow devices, controls/calibrators and microtiter systems) while adhering to regulatory requirements and business polices /procedures and schedules Provides training to chemistry staff on Manufacturing Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Displays leadership by assessing issues affecting departmental performance, Quality standards, and product quality then communicates to management and initiates appropriate corrective action Supports departmental troubleshooting, cross-functional projects and process improvement teams Reviews completed Device History Records and performs financial reviews of work orders. Initiates appropriate corrective action through Engineering Change Orders (ECO) Maintains daily adherence to Production goals relating to MUV/LUV, labor utilization, work order closure, and schedule adherence Works with the planners and develops weekly schedule

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Daily o manufacture solution bolts that go on their strips o a lot of in process soln o bead coupling o in process testing and optimization o follow daily schedule, get products from inventory control • skills o 3-4yrs o bachelors, masters +1.5-2 ***they do need industry and prefer this over academic o NO PHD o has done lateral flow device experience (for both position) they know there are in process testing done o protein purification o antibody conjunction o column chrom o tangentional flow, know what it is used for – academic and hands on TFF o elisa o basic lab equipment: pipette, centrifute, uv spec (conc of antibody), ph meter, conductivity meter, stir plate, use various graduated cylinder and beakers o there is some quality done bc this is process of their • hours: flexible (arrive 6am to 8am), sometimes overtime is required (q4 is their busy time – weekend work might be needed)  Saturday and Sunday work (try to do 4hr days but maybe sometimes 8hrs) o they will be told hopefully by Wednesday for that weekend • RA or is NOT going to be a fit • projet based not research based NON Skills • do not want a jump work history!!!! ask about this! • open mind to new processes and culture, team/collaborative mindset • team: 6 chemists on team but they are rapidly growing starting NEXT yr • comfortable with change – chemist are supporting prodction orders so there are highs and ows o they’ve been around a while from o ortho clinical diagnostics – recently acquired this! they can do the whole scope of testing diagnostics • this is a manufacturing environment
