Where Will I Work?


You will work within Florida’s beautiful capital city, Tallahassee, FL. Tallahassee is a city of continued growth and economic development, and home to the campuses of Florida State University (FSU), the Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU), and Tallahassee Community College (TCC).


What Will My Role Be?


If selected for this role, you will be a Central Office Training Coordinator. The position is vital to the mission, vision, and values of our organization. In this role, you will report directly to the Training Management and Design Supervisor in the Organizational Development Office while meeting project deadlines and working well in a team or independently.

The ideal candidate for this position is customer service oriented and is a great communicator who possesses technical and analytical skills in Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint and can communicate technical information into presentation mediums for ease of comprehension to various audience levels. You will design, implement, and create training materials, use improvement strategies, and will work well alongside and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels. You are skilled in planning, designing, coordinating, implementing, instructing, and facilitating training programs including workshops, meetings, conferences, and trainings both in person and virtual settings.


Your Duties and Responsibilities in this role will be to:


  • Serve as the Central Office Training Coordinator, while building collaborative relationships on all levels. Manage the Central Office training program planning, scheduling, and delivery, to include coordinating statewide training meetings. Prepare for and deliver various Florida Department of Transportation training programs. Disseminate accurate information relating to upcoming training opportunities. Coordinate providers' meetings. Conduct instructor training to ensure design and delivery standards are met statewide. Input and update individual training records.

  • Maintain and provide the Florida Department of Transportation's training programs. Follow design standards and processes to develop training programs. Monitor and assess curriculum to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and useful for target audiences. Identify recommendations for training program improvements. Assist in statewide training efforts, as needed.

  • Maintain accurate training schedules and records. Develop annual long term and short term training plans. Input training sessions and supporting information into the Department's Learning Management System (LMS). Update registration and completion information in the LMS and provide LMS support. Provide troubleshooting support and customer service to system users for LMS and OIT ticketing system. Support provider offices to ensure delivery of planned training and assist with duties related to training needs. Maintain current listing of all Training Staff and Unit Training Coordinators.

  • Coordinate training resources. Ensure adjunct and out-sourced training teams received necessary support from the Organizational Development Office. Establish room reservations, supplies, and necessary support to ensure effective training sessions. Provide support to Training Management and Design Supervisor with all statewide training contracts and agreements including all District training contracts and agreements.

  • Assist the Training Management and Design Supervisor with coordinating reviews and implementation of policy and procedures, manuals, operational guidelines, and programs.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications


A high school diploma or equivalent, and two (2) years of professional or nonprofessional experience in instruction, instructional design, public speaking, program research, and planning, or organizational or staff development. A bachelor's degree from a college or university can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
