Position Needed: Catering Manager

The Manager/ Director of Catering Sales is responsible for selling banquet space, food and beverage, rentals and services for private functions and Club events.

KEY Responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly department head meeting, food and beverage meeting, annual management training (lAAC), first aid training and monthly safety training. Respond to all leads by phone, email and walk-Ins within 24 hours when possible.
  • Provide information to clients about our menus, facilities and club policies for the potential event. Meet with clients to plan events, arrange rentals and other services. Create a Banquet Event Order (BEO) within North Star.
  • Review With client and obtain signature for contract and deposit.
  • Arrange for deposit schedule, insurance or waiver, vendors and services.
  • Inform all F&B managers with updates or changes to BED In a timely fashion that will affect scheduling, ordering or food preparation. Meet with CYC Committee chairs to create BEO for Club functions.
  • Coordinate wedding tastings and rehearsals. Maintain updated and organized banquet files.
  • Create and distribute floor plans for events when needed. Responsible for knowledge of banquet menus items, prices, packages and SOP's of Catering department.
  • Must have complete understanding of Club policies written in House and Grounds Rules as they relate to private and Club banquet functions.
  • Open and close banquet accounts including processing of refundable deposits and final payments post event.
  • Assist the Banquet staff with client’s concerns/special requests when necessary (i.e. setting up placards, table numbers. Etc.).
  • Follow up with vendors prior to events (i.e, bakeries, photographers, musicians, florists, tents, etc) for billing, delivery and insurance documentation or waiver as needed.
  • Assist the Director of Food and Beverage with the annual budget, advertising strategy and annual review of revenue goals.
  • Update menus with In North Star and print new menu packets as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Beverage.

Requirements:

  • AA degree Or 4 years’ experience in catering administration.
  • Required: Minimum 3 years of Catering'sales experience.in a hotel, private club or catering venue.
  • Basic bookkeeping, excellent organizational skills, computer program knowledge (Excel, Work),
  • Experience with catering support systems (NorthStar).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effective ethical sales skills
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish or any other language) is an asset in this position.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
