1ST SHIFT / MONDAY- FRIDAY (SOME SATURDAYS) / START TIME 3:00 AM / 10 HOUR SHIFTS

GENERAL JOB DUTIES:
- Use industrial handheld tools and power tools such as grinders, chisels, sledgehammers, and sanders to knock off, chip, and grind off extra iron from the product
- Clean iron castings by removing fins, burnt-on sand, and excess metal per required specifications in preparation for customer shipment.
- Operate overhead cranes and /or jib cranes (pendant and radio-controlled) to place castings at the workstation and shipment area. Select the appropriate heavy chains and hooks for casting size, shape, and weight.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks, weigh-in trucks as necessary, use scale and record data.
- Clean-up of workstation and surrounding work areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and use of air tools, power tools, chippers, grinders, sledgehammers, and chisels.
- Experience operating overhead cranes and/or jib cranes and using heavy chains and hooks.
- Visualization of how something may look after it is moved or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
- Attention to quality requirements is essential.
- Must be able to read, write and follow detailed instructions.
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials during your shift.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable wearing FULL RESPIRATORY SAFETY EQUIPMENT
- Standing and bending for long periods of time.
- Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures.
