UF Health Leesburg Hospital has been serving the health care needs of our community for 58 years. The hospital offers advanced cardiac care, including one of the largest cardiothoracic surgery programs in the state. The American College of Cardiology has recognized UF Health Leesburg Hospital for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain by awarding a Chest Pain Center accreditation with Primacy PCI and Resuscitation-its highest and best level of accreditation. UF Health Leesburg Hospital also offers advanced orthopedic surgery, stroke care, emergency services and labor and delivery care.

The hospital is part of UF Health Central Florida, a not-for-profit health care system and the largest, most comprehensive provider of health care services in the region. UF Health Central Florida provides inpatient acute hospital services at UF Health Leesburg Hospital and UF Health The Villages Hospital, inpatient rehabilitation services at UF Health Rehab Hospital - The Villages, and diagnostic laboratory services at several locations. There are 3 cath labs at UF Health's Leesburg Hospital and 1 electrophysiology Lab. The ideal cardiovascular tech candidate is passionate about elevating their clinical skill set. The director is a servant-leader with 30 years of UF Health Leesburg experience and is dedicated to the success of her team and the people of her community.

The providers are excited about the field and love to share their knowledge with their staff. This is a close-knit cath lab where collaboration and teamwork are celebrated and offers state-of-art cath lab technology and medical devices.

The part-time (two 12-hour shifts) cath lab cardiovascular tech, under the direction the of the director/charge person, monitors procedures, including all diagnostic and interventional coronary and peripheral catheterization studies; ensures safe patient care; and works as a scrub assistant.

Education:

• Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology or respiratory therapy.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Either of the following is required in lieu of the required education:
  • Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification, or
  • Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification (preferred).
• Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) certification (preferred).
• BLS.
• ACLS.

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:

• Must be able to read, write in, speak and understand English.
