POSITION SUMMARY We are leading the fight against poverty and are searching for an experienced Non-Profit Executive Director to lead our local campus efforts to support the local community to end poverty, food insecurity and promote healthier lives for our local neighbors. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the organization meets its current financial and program objectives, operates efficient programs to serve the needs of the community and fosters an environment of high productivity and employee engagement.

Accountable to the CEO and Board of Directors, you will lead through collaboration and strong leadership, work closely with other campuses to align on strategic objectives, provide executive oversight for all campus operations, advocate for our mission, run efficient programs that optimize donation intake and revenue, and foster a positive message within the local community.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

· Provide leadership, direction and financial oversight for all campus activities, development, centers and program services.

· Partner with the CEO to build and execute a long-term operating strategy that ensures stability and growth of the organization for future years.

· Plan, implement, manage and monitor aggressive, annual fundraising campaigns that result in meeting or exceeding annual fundraising objectives for individual donations, corporate donations, corporate sponsorships and more.

· Partner with CEO and CFO to prepare, maintain and adhere to annual budgets, review monthly financial statements, implement action plans to address deficiencies as needed, maintain efficient operating costs in line with budget levels and ensure proper business controls are in place to maximize revenue and financial success of the campus.

· Manage all activities related to capital campaigns including collaborating with special partners, leading steering committees, etc.

· Work with regional program staff to design, execute and monitor innovative and effective programs to reduce poverty levels in the local community.

· Ensure active and regular Board meetings take place during the year. Implement a standardized agenda, provide detailed updates on monthly fundraising and program activities, financial updates and other important items to be discussed. Ensure BOD members receive monthly board reports at least one week prior to all scheduled meetings.

· Work directly with local county officials, Board of Directors, and other parties to develop and execute public relations activities to foster strong community involvement.

· Manage and cultivate relationships with approximately 100+ top-tier donors, effectively solicit annual gifts and continue to grow the donor list year over year.

· Promote active volunteer campaigns, increase local awareness and activity among new and existing volunteers. Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations.

· Collaborate with the grant writing team to source, write and execute grant goals.

· Conduct regular speaking engagements (at least 4 per year) with local, civic groups to build community awareness for United Against Poverty. Work with local and national media to promote the organization through advocacy.

· Partner with Human Resources to ensure all employees have accurate job descriptions, receive fair, annual performance evaluations and have to support and resources they need to maintain high levels of productivity and engagement. Address performance deficiencies quickly and fairly while providing full employee support. Maintain high employee retention levels through strong and engaging leadership.

· Build and maintain a culture among employees that promotes teamwork, respect, dignity, and compassion for each other and those we serve.

· Lead all other department activities and initiatives as needed.

ESSENTIALS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL

· Excellent communication skills and ability to tell the story of United Against Poverty to solicit support from local and national communities, leaders and donors.

· Proven donor development and fundraising capability.

· Strong leadership skills, ability to manage a multi-faceted business by hiring, developing and retaining a strong core team of employees.

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and relationships with all parties including employees, civic leaders, donors, volunteers, community members and more.

· Positive attitude even in the face of adversity.

· Effective decision making and problem-solving skills are a must.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; preferably in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Social Services, Communications or related field. CFRE is a plus.

· Minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience; preferably in a similar for a non-profit organization.

· Previous management experience including hiring, coaching, and managing employees and daily operations successfully.

PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend and move around for long periods of time and move frequently throughout the day. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 25lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
