What you'll do:
The Calibration Engineer also supports the Software team and the Product Assurance team in the implementation of the crash algorithms in the airbag modules. This includes comprehending the new algorithms, understanding the specific needs of the customer, specifying new algorithm features if needed and supporting their validation.- Understanding crash test data, processing it to an Veoneer format and presenting it for review using Veoneer internal tools
- Simulate deployment times from a crash algorithm using the Veoneer standard calibration tool
- Open, modify and change a calibration (algorithm parameter setting)
- Organize team calibrations (where a team of engineers solve a technical problem as a group)
- Present a calibration strategy, options and trade-offs to the customer
- Negotiate the calibration sign-off directly with the customer
- Organize peer reviews where the work is presented for review
- Review and sign-off the calibration results from the Algorithm Validation Test Stand
- Create a calibration report
- Read and understand a crash algorithm specification
- Open and understand a MATLAB/SIMULINK model/script
- Read and understand a customer specification for an airbag module crash algorithm
- Modify/create a crash algorithm specification
- Modify/create a crash algorithm SIMULINK model or MATLAB model
- Modify/create an algorithm S/W validation plan
- Present a current or new algorithm to the customer
- Attend recurring algorithm meetings at the customer
What you'll bring:
- BS in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Physics (MS preferred)
- At least 2 years’ experience with customer/supplier interaction is required
- Skilled in MATLAB, WORD, POWERPOINT, EXCEL
- Knowledge of SIMULINK, Electronic Products and Automotive
- Safety would be a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Skilled in technical negotiation, learning & teaching, problem/puzzle solving and team work
- Flexible, resilient, honest and accountable
- Multi-cultural awareness would be a plus
