Calender – Lebanon, PA
We have an immediate opening for a Calender Operator at our Lebanon Facility.
Provide assistance to maintain effective production in the calender department. Display the ability to operate material handling equipment to keep lines supplied with material and remove finished roll stock as necessary. Operate calender line and/or relief of windup operator. Operates calender and extrusion equipment and is responsible for setting all heat processing parameters, including all width and gauge changes for the plastic film produced. Maintains machinery and operates at the highest efficiency while inspecting product for quality defects, gauge control, and overall functions of the line.
Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supplies the calendaring production line with pallets and other necessary materials and removes finished product from line in a timely manner.
- Weighs and segregates miscellaneous items required for operation of lines.
- Assists with machine set up, pulling of extruder screws and may serve as relief operator on the calender line and/or relief of windup operator.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment.
- Complete necessary paperwork and reports pertaining to production and inventory control measures.
- Assist with other tasks as necessary to help maintain efficient production.
Essential Skills:
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in manufacturing environment is helpful.
- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OTHER: forklift certification
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: The ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the high school level.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide five digit numbers using units of American weight measurements, volume and distance. Must be able to read and accurately use tape measure and convert fractions into decimal equivalents.
- REASONING ABILITY: Must be able to understand and carry out multi-step instructions and apply common sense to problems that arise.
OTHER: Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Physical Demands:
- This is an industrial work environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particulate matter, fumes and above average noise levels.
- While performing this job, employee will be required to sit, walk, kneel, stoop, or crawl; smell.
- Specific vision required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 65 pounds
- Must be able to use shovels and rakes for extended periods of time.
- Must have manual dexterity to work with machines, materials and product components.
- Safety glasses, hearing protection and safety shoes are always required in the performance of this position.
- Gloves and respirators are required in the performance of certain parts of this position.

We have an immediate opening for a Compound Utility worker at our Lebanon facility.
Assists compounding operator to form plastic into pellets and helps maintain effective production in the compounding department.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Inspects finished product for quality.
- Document product produced.
- Demonstrates the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Completes necessary paperwork and reports pertaining to production and inventory control measures.
- Weigh and store material in proper area.
- Willing to learn all aspects of running compounding line.
- Assists with other tasks as necessary to help maintain efficient production.
Essential Skills:
- Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide five-digit numbers.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurements, volume and distance.
- Must be able to read and accurately use tape measure to convert fractions and apply common sense to problems that arise.
- Should be able to understand and carry out multi-step instructions and apply common sense to problems that arise.
- While performing this job, employee will be required to stand for long periods, walk and lift loads up to 25 pounds, turn and bend.
- Employee must have manual dexterity to work with the machines, materials and product components.
- Specific job classification criteria have been developed which define the additional skills required for progression through the wage structure of this position.
