Job Title: CADD Technician (W2 Only)
Location: Hybrid work model

Duration: 12 month extendable Contract

Job Description:

Under general supervision, perform a wide-variety of mapping and engineering support activities such as: updating, extracting, creating design drawings using CADD systems (Flip7, MicroStation Inroads) or geographic information systems (ArcGIS); communicating with other groups; conducting research; reading and/or interpreting maps, blueprints, survey documents, or sketches; proofing or comparing the information contained on maps/drawings with information from different sources; measuring distances, areas, perimeters, and angles; and uses computer applications to enter query information. You may meet with other personnel as work assignments dictate. On a technical level, may assist in resolving
reported problems in the field and may be exposed to field conditions.

Principal Duties:

• Uses appropriate computational methods, existing source documentation, CADD or ArcGIS software tools to develop, populate and maintain GIS and CADD. Demonstrate proficiency of GIS and LiDAR specific software to solve problems and maximize efficiency
• Convert maps/design drawings and related information into different formats, including the interpretation of survey bearings and distances to properly input new data to appropriate GIS and/or CAD layer for reference.
• Utilize appropriate LiDAR tools to extract geospatial information
• Performs quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) on department-specific GIS and CAD data.
• Compares information on digital maps to hardcopy information and checks for accuracy. Compares legal survey documents with current GIS and CAD information.
• Communicates with engineers, contractors, developers, surveyors, planners, real estate representatives, and others.

• Civil Engineering
• Geographic Information Systems
• Other relevant major with CADD, GIS or Civil
