BlueWater Federal's team under BLITS contract supports the mission needs of 66th Air Base Group providing efficient service delivery for critical infrastructure needs and capabilities to include Network, Voice, Server, Storage, Asset Management, Cybersecurity, Sharepoint and Web. We are looking for Cable Specialist to join the Team at Hanscom AFB, MA.
- Report to the Cable Team Lead, push forward cable operations / infrastructure projects within contract goals, follow-up and foster team work
- Engineer structured solutions for new constructions, renovations and upgrades for inside / outside plants, grounding and bonding needs, and comm closet designs IAW BICSI, ANSI, ISO standards and or AFIs and DoD requirements
- Manage daily maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of enterprise cable plants
- Execute site surveys, provide solutions, generate LOMs, labor estimates and SOWs
- Manage confined space/manhole operations w/safety briefings, permits and inspections
- Install, configure & troubleshoot infrastructures in support of bit-transport services
- Update and maintain AutoCAD cable topology drawings/fiber drawings
- Manage Communications & Information Systems Installation Records for Communications Mission Data Set layers of the AF CIPS Visualization Component
- Monitor, manage, inventory, order all hardware stock items
- Manage service incidents / requests in Remedy
- Provide planned and or emergency afterhours support as needed
- AS/BS degree preferred
- 8-10 years’ experience in cable engineering /troubleshooting
- EIA/ISO/BICSI based fiber optic / data cable engineering
- Engineering solutions, w/ cost & material specifications
- Fluency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Products
- Installation/termination/testing/troubleshooting of structured cabling (copper /fiber)
- Proficient w/ cable test equipment & TIA/EIA cabling standards
- Ability to lift about 70+lbs required
- Secret Level DoD Security Clearance required
- OSHA-10 certification needed (can obtain once hired)
- BICSI INSTALLATION / RCDD preferred
