Job description

The Buyer will be able to process purchasing requisitions/needs for Direct, Indirect, packaging and suppliers for the site and manage the conversion of those requisitions by the ERP system into purchase orders. The Buyer will be responsible for creating purchase order tracking systems, alerting management when orders have been filled or delayed and invoices from vendors have been issued, answering vendor questions and providing them with additional order documentation as needed. The buyer has a strong understanding and proven track record of procurement practices and concepts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Support strategies and approaches to achieve goals set out by the Procurement Manager.

· Deliver/drive results in area of responsibility by working with internal and external customers.

· Seek, research and present cost savings opportunities to management, taking ownership and actively managing the supplier relationships for assigned materials.

· Work with the inventory management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products

· Work with appropriate personnel to maintain proper inventory levels of materials/packaging/supplies used on a regular basis

· Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers and accounts payable.

· Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders to help ensure timely fulfillment communicating to requisitioners of delays or other issues.

· Reconcile GR/IR as needed for purchases such as primary raw materials.

Qualifications:

· Minimum 2-year associate degree in general business or related field or equivalent experience.

· Minimum 5 years of purchasing and raw material acquisition or related experience.

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office – specifically Word and Excel – and Microsoft Outlook (e-mail, calendar).

· Experience using an ERP system (such as SAP) is preferred.

· Familiarity with purchasing in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
