    $8,159.00 - $13,575.00 per month (EM05)

  • NOTE: Department of Education employees will be placed on the salary range in accordance with Department regulations. All new external applicants will be placed on the initial step of the salary range. However, placement above the initial step of the salary range will be based on special characteristics and critical needs of the position, an applicant's exceptional qualifications, the availability of funds, and other relevant factors. Such appointments require prior approval.

  • Job Summary:
    This position is located in the Complex Area and is responsible for providing direct business and financial management assistance to complex area superintendents (CAS) and to principals. This position will be responsible for coordinating and providing technical knowledge for effective school administration, with the major focus being financial and organizational management; assisting and advising all levels of management in planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling and evaluating the use of departmental resources to achieve maximum efficiency and economy.

  • Selective Certification:
    Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a baccalaureate degree in business administration with a major in accounting, or with a major in any field of business administration which included at least twelve (12) semester hours of credit in accounting courses.


  • Minimum Qualification Requirements:
    Applicants must meet all the requirements for the position they are seeking as of the date of the application, unless otherwise specified. Unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience may not be gained concurrently.

    Note: Calculation of experience is based on full-time, 40-hour workweeks. Part-time experience is pro-rated. Example: Twelve months of experience at 20 hours/week is equivalent to six months of experience, not one year. Also, hours worked in excess of 40 hours/week will not be credited. Example: Twelve months of experience at 60 hours/week is equivalent to one year of experience, not one and a half years.

    To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements :

    Education Requirement:
    Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a baccalaureate degree in business administration with a major in accounting, or with a major in any field of business administration which included at least twelve (12) semester hours of credit in accounting courses.

    General Experience Requirement:
    Three (3) years administrative, professional, technical, analytical or other responsible work experience which required a high degree of managerial skills.

    Specialized Experience Requirement:
    Two (2) years professional experience which involved (1) the analysis, evaluation, development, and improvement of managerial policies, practices, methods, systems and procedures; or (2) which involved the development, evaluation or revision of fiscal management practices, methods, policies and procedures; or (3) which involved budget evaluation and development of budget justifications.

    Substitutions Allowed:
    1. Master's degree in business or public administration or a related major from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the General Experience requirement.

    2. Excess Specialized Experience may be substituted for General Experience on a year-for-year basis.

    Quality of Experience:
    Possession of the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification for a position. The applicant's overall experience must have been of such scope and level of responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate that the applicant has the ability to perform the duties of the position for which the applicant is being considered.
