About the Opportunity
Job Duties
This individual will be responsible for providing research support for the Black Reparations Conference to be held during the Spring 2023 semester. The conference will bring together elected officials, advocacy workers, activists, service providers, scholars, etc. for the purposes of connecting, sharing, learning, and movement building. This role will require prior knowledge and experience with reparations policy planning (or related) research and evaluation, as well as familiarity with intersectionality and trauma-informed leadership, among other essential topics.
Responsibilities for this position are expected to include, but not be limited to:
- Policy Research & Analysis: Assist with designing and conducting original reparations research and analysis related to reparations policy planning issues
- Data Collection: Collect data via surveys, listening/conference sessions, interviews
- Background Research :Conduct background research on reparations policy planning, develop new repository database for reparations planning initiatives
- Writing: Assist with preparation of conference report
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's in related field.
- Policy research and analysis - data collection, participatory research, planning, evaluation, stakeholder analysis, themes coding, etc.
- Working with diverse and underrepresented populations, knowledge of racial climate and reparations efforts locally and nationally
Expected Commitment and Compensation
This position is expected to require 5-10 hours per week (February 2023 – June 2023). This position will be compensated based on experience.
The salary range for this position is $25 per hour to $50 per hour.
