The Earth and Biological Sciences Directorate (EBSD) leads novel and necessary research in three core areas: Atmospheric and Climate Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Environmental Molecular Sciences. We are seeking a Biostatistician with expertise in statistics who will join a talented, multi-investigator team to contribute to projects developing innovative solutions across the spectrum of ‘omics technologies. The ideal applicant will have a skill set that includes a strong background in statistical theory, advanced statistical methodology including modeling, experimental design, multivariate statistics, and other advanced topics such as time series analysis, statistical learning, and Bayesian modeling. Experience in statistics applied to biology and/or mass spectrometry data (e.g. proteomics) is a plus. The ideal applicant will have experience working in interdisciplinary teams, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to translate theoretical statistics to complex and novel data.

Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA and 2 years of relevant experience -OR-
- MS/MA -OR-
- PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in statistics, biostatistics, or related field
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with interdisciplinary teams in research
- Deep understanding of theoretical statistics
- Experience coding in R and package development in R
- Experience coding in Python
- Experience using HPCs and/or cloud computing resources
