Location: North Chicago / Lake County, IL - ONSITE

Contract: 6 months

NOTE: This person will be primarily at the North Chicago location, but may have to split their time at building AP31 in Park. (rarely splitting their time) (primary would work from north Chicago IL)

• Characterization of protein based therapeutics.
• Develop and implementation of western blot.
• Research and academic exp will be considered.

Requirements:

• BS/BA in Biochemistry, Biology, Medical Technology, Chemistry or related field with 2-5 yrs lab experience (pharmaceutical industry preferred) or Masters Degree.
• Solid use of protein analysis equipment for SDS-PAGE Gels, Western Blots (manual and automated) and other protein assays.
• Solid documentation skills.
• Able to present findings to larger groups.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute assigned laboratory tasks utilizing standard procedures and technical understanding of various techniques to complete assigned tasks.
• Develop protocols for more complex tests or experiments performed with less defined assays and parameters.
• Apply basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and instrument related systems.
• Presents conclusions of defined experiments.
• Ensures safety requirements are met when performing tasks.
• Ensures timely compliant delivery of high quality precise data

Ideal Skillset:

• Required Skill 1: SDS-PAGE
• Required Skill 2: Western Blot (ideally can develop assays)
• Required Skill 3: Protein Analysis (plate-reader)
• Required Skill 4: Biochemical assays
• Required Skill 5: Protein chromatography (ion exchange, etc, desired, not required)

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $12.00 - $31.49 per hour
