Billing and Accounts Receivable Recovery Representative, Johnson City

United Health Services is seeking a Billing and Accounts Receivable Recovery Representative to join our Twin Tier Home Care Division Johnson City, NY at 601 Riverside Drive. The office is open from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE/ Full Time position.

Shift: Days

Hours per week: 40

Salary range: $16.79- $22.71/hour, depending on experience

Overview

Responsible for timely and accurate processing. In this position, the processor should make every effort to assist the patient with questions and/or concerns.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

Prepares and handles billing for accounts to ensure timely filing

Identifies insurance requirements needed to ensure payor requirements are met

Effectively communicates with the Patient Account Representatives, CMN specialist, physician offices, patients, and insurance companies to rectify problems, address questions and concerns or obtain information

Performs billing process for both electronic billings and paper claims by location/insurance

Reviews bills for correct products, correct codes, physician information and correct billing format for payor

Ensures that all changes to bills are documented in the billing system to ensure future reimbursement

Researches any overdue account balance that is fully or partially unpaid and follows up by mail and/or phone to insurance carriers or customers on delinquent payments. Reviews claims denied for payment and unpaid claims

Research old AR and working status code reports. Communicates with staff, physician offices or patients, as needed

Position Qualifications

Minimum:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience in resolving issues as they occur while efficiently managing high work volume in a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred:
Experience with durable medical equipment.
