Haik Humble Eye Center is a busy ophthalmology practice seeking an experienced candidate with an outstanding passion for patient care. This is a full-time position located in West Monroe, Louisiana.

This position is for a candidate who desires stability by joining an established workforce dedicated to providing patients with the highest quality of patient care by providing the most correct insurance information prior to surgery and guiding them through their benefits for procedures. The Benefit Coordinator must have experience with Insurance verification and Insurance pre-authorization process. On the job training will be provided about the field of ophthalmology to better prepare you to assist our patients. Candidate must be proficient in communicating with patients via telephone and face-to-face.

A typical day as a Patient Benefit Coordinator:

• You will verify all medical and vision insurance assigned.
• Proactively calculate patient's out of pocket cost for procedures based on benefits and surgical evaluation.
• Obtain pre-authorization from insurance providers when service requires.
• Properly document all benefits and patient responsibilities.
• Discuss benefits and out of pocket costs with all surgical patients at the time of their pre-operative appointment.
• Ensure all fees are collected prior to procedure being performed.
• Communicate with patients via telephone to assist them with any needs they may have.
• Other duties assigned as schedule permits.

Candidates must also possess:
