The Position
We are seeking an experienced Benefits Account Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the retention and growth of the accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of group benefits plans, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of group benefits accounts and act as the primary point of contact for clients.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients to understand their needs and goals.
- Work with producers to develop and implement effective group benefits plans that meet client needs and budgets.
- Remarket renewals to ensure a high retention rate
- Review carrier quotes with producers to analyze coverage terms
- Monitor and analyze client usage and trends to identify opportunities for plan improvements and cost savings.
- Document all conversations with clients and prospective clients, enter new policy information and changes on existing policies into EPIC data base.
- Identify and resolve complex service, claim and billing issues for insureds
- Conduct regular client meetings to review plan performance, address concerns, and provide recommendations.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment for clients and prepare all enrollment guides/materials.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes to regulations to ensure compliance with all requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in group benefits account management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of group benefits plans and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of benefit enrollment platforms, such as Employee Navigator, Ease and BerniePortal preferred.
