Our kettle locations are in and around Quincy, IL and Hannibal, MO. Our kettle locations are in and around Quincy, IL and Hannibal, MO. Bell ringing is scheduled Wednesday-Friday from 11:00am - 7:00pm and Saturdays from 9:00am - 7:00pm beginning November 11th through December 24th. Shifts vary in duration from 2-8 hours.
The Salvation Army is seeking candidates to serve as Bell Ringers this Christmas season.
Job Summary:
Individuals in this position are expected to ring bells for The Salvation Army Christmas Program at assigned locations and greet the public in a courteous and friendly manner. Bell ringers are expected to participate in the work required to successfully complete the seasonal fundraising program of The Salvation Army commonly referred to as the Red Kettle program. Ring a small hand bell and is responsible for maintaining a red kettle location.
Perform other related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Enjoy greeting and interacting with people
- Able to smile, be courteous and friendly
- Able to stand outside at the kettle for the duration of the shift
- Self-starter, motivated
- Flexible and able to accept changes in plans, schedules, locations, etc.
- Knowledge of The Salvation Army Red Kettle Program
- Able to follow instructions with limited supervision
- Able to abide by required dress code
- Able to ring small hand bell and be responsible for equipment.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Any combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
