Bartender/ Tasting Room Attendant (PT) - Friday/ Saturday & some Sundays
Pilot House Distilling is a craft distillery with Tasting Rooms located in historic downtown Astoria, North Portland, and Cannon Beach. We offer hand crafted, award winning spirits and are proud to say we brought the first canned cocktail to market in Oregon. Each Tasting Room currently offers tastings and Mini Cocktails, showcasing our distilled spirits. Our Portland location is now fully licensed, offering a full bar and food. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable team member to join this small, ambitious team. You will need to be available Friday, Saturday and some Sundays. There's lots of potential to learn and grow!
Job Duties include (but not limited to):
- Educate customers and proudly represent the company and our products
- Enthusiastically cater to customers in-house and sell products to go
- Perform functions of sales associate, bartender, and shop operations, including opening and closing duties
- Prepare cocktails and food items according to recipes
- Run an inviting space; clean, organized, and comfortable
- Utilize POS system and cash management
- Drive sales and create exceptional guest experiences
- Work with management to suggest and execute on-site events
- Manage and track inventory of a variety of beverages, food, and retail merchandise
- Adhere to OLCC/FDA/ OSHA laws and guidelines
- Manage and monitor cash handling and deposits
- Interest in and available for outside operations, such as events and training
Job Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Have the means to run errands, attend occasional events
- Prefer 2+ years beverage and food experience
- Demonstrated ability to be pro-active and take initiative
- Self-motivated and able to act independently to solve problems as they occur
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, able to knowledgeably, clearly and enthusiastically promote our products to customers
- Able to timely and clearly communicate with managers and co-workers (in-person, via text, e-mail and phone)
- Dependable, trustworthy, and punctual
- An eye for detail and the ability to run a safe and clean establishment
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Have or able to get OLCC Service Permit & Food Handlers Card immediately upon hire
- Take pride in our sustainable practices (recycling, waste reduction, etc.)
- Treat teammates and customers with respect at all times
- Must be able to lift and carry 35+ lbs
- Most of your shift will be spent standing and walking, as well as bending, reaching, carrying, cleaning, etc.
