The Automation Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the automated assembly machines and process equipment.
Starting Wage = $22.00 +DOE (2nd Shift will receive a 10% Shift Differential)
Shift: 6:30am - 2:30pm & 2:30pm - 10:30pm

Essential Functions:
- Troubleshoots and repairs automated assembly and process equipment.
- Sets-up automated assembly and process equipment for specific production runs.
- Supports the production floor by answering equipment repair and trouble-shooting requests. This includes interacting with and gathering information from Line Leaders and Machine Operators in a professional manner.
- Performs preventive or corrective maintenance on automated assembly systems, process, and ancillary equipment.
- Installs, sets-up, and rebuilds automation assembly and process equipment as required.
- Provides excellent internal customer service to the Machine Operators through quick response time, effective communication, and resolution of issues.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion, abiding by company rules and safety regulations.
Education / Licensure / Experience:
- Prior experience in troubleshooting and repairing high speed automated assembly systems including the mechanical devices, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, programmable logic controllers, electrical circuits, and the human-machine interfaces that are present on the mentioned systems.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in various instruments and hand tools, such as electrical multi-meters and precision measuring devices.
- Proficiency in the ability to read and comprehend electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic diagrams and blueprints.
- Excellent project management skills with the proven ability to deliver timely results.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills to effectively deal with individuals at all levels.
- Critical thinking and strong analytical problem-solving skills together with a high level of manual dexterity and a strong attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and use SAP.
- Ability to identify and solve problems quickly while performing quality, accurate work under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment in a culturally diverse workplace.
Working Conditions:
Work is normally performed in a loud manufacturing environment subject to fluctuations in temperature with regular exposure to grease, oil, and heavy machinery will expected in the position.
Physical Demands:
Physical requirements needed to perform the job are eye-hand coordination and bi-manual dexterity sufficient to work with small parts and operate machinery, a normal range of hearing and eyesight to focus on task, the ability to stand for long periods of time, the ability to perform work while bending and/or crouching, and the ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
