Audit CPA w/ 8+ yrs public accounting audit experience
We have an opening opening for a CPA with 8+ years public accounting audit experience. Position can be full time or part time. Client base is almost exclusively small business and small non-profits. We have a small auditing practice that we are looking to expand. Our primary practice is small business tax. Some flexibility with hours. Position can be hybrid or in office. Salary competitive. Audit CPA duties and responsibilities:
- Supervise Audit Senior in preparing audit/review, and assist in training audit staff.
- Review documentation and questionnaire responses from prospective clients and coordinate with Audit Senior to propose time budgets for audit or review.
- Work with Audit Senior to plan audit or review.
- Interview client personnel and perform testing, or review work performed by audit staff.
- Document audit steps to support conclusions.
- Prepare audit report.
- Review work of Audit Staff and propose updates/changes and feedback as needed.
Audit CPA skills and qualifications:
- Good communication skills: The Audit CPA will be working directly with the audit client, audit client personnel and prospective audit clients. You must be able to explain complex financial statement and audit concepts in a simple and clear way to non-specialists so that they can understand easily.
- Numeracy: Although an audit CPA does not need to be a math genius, he or she will be working with numbers, and thus needs to be comfortable with numbers.
- Time management: Being an Audit CPA means that there are specific deadlines that need to be met. An Audit CPA must be able to prioritize tasks and take responsibility for a professional workload.
- Problem-solving skills: A great Audit CPA must be able to solve issues and be creative in their thinking. For example, Audit CPA may need to determine alternative methods to verify inventory for a specific date.
- Attention to detail: An Audit CPA must document support for their conclusions in sufficient detail to satisfy peer reviewers.
- Well-organized: During their career, an Audit CPA will face many complex issues and tasks, thus, being well-organized and able to work through them methodically is an essential skill.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
