Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
Under general supervision, participates in planning, implementing, and evaluating health services in specialized nursing care areas for training and certification for the Attendant Care Project with the Center for Disability Resources (CDR), USC School of Medicine Columbia. Evaluates and certifies participants or representatives for self-directed or representative-directed care and evaluate attendants’ ability to provide safe and participant-specific care. Provides training as appropriate. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations. This position is established in support of expanded research activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 2 or more years of experience. Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing and have at least 2 years experience as a licensed nurse in a public health, hospital or long term care setting working with persons with disabilities and/or who are aging/elderly required. Current licensure as a LPN or RN by the South Carolina Board of Nursing required. Capable of providing individualized training for the participant, representative and attendant; capable of providing group training required. Shall have a PPD tuberculin skin test, unless a previously positive reaction can be documented, no more than 90 days prior to employment (or documented annual testing) and must have a PPD annually thereafter required. Shall meet OSHA requirements for bloodborne pathogen training required. Position serves various areas of the state of South Carolina; car provided; telecommuting position. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations
