Job description
This is an AmeriCorps VISTA position and the individual will work directly with the Executive Director and larger community of the Horizons organization for a full year of service. This is an opportunity for motivated, committed, and collaborative individuals who are passionate about making a difference and holding a high level of responsibility in a supportive environment. Because of this, the candidate should have a demonstrated interest in volunteer and community service as well as the desire to take on responsibilities that will challenge themselves and make an impact on the community. The VISTA will be provided with a pre-paid card of $90/month to support the cost of transportation. They will also receive a benefit of $200/month to support the cost of housing.
Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member will work directly with the Executive Director of Horizons. To increase the capacity of Horizons at San Francisco Friends School, the VISTA will be doing the following: Support the development of an all new high school program for participants as an extension of our services. Research and make recommendations for impactful year-round programming and parent education efforts. Create systems for tracking and analyzing longitudinal program impact measures. Learn about Community-Centric fundraising principles and identify and pilot opportunities for their adoption in our development work. Learn about our current development data platforms (e.g. Salesforce) to improve data systems. Develop proposals for marketing strategies including social media campaigns that engage the full range of community members from students to donors. Promote the program in the community through in person and social media efforts.
