QARI (Quincy Asian Resources, Inc.) is a not-for-profit social service organization dedicated to fostering and improving the social, cultural, economic, and civic lives of immigrants and their families. Through collaborations and partnerships, QARI provides culturally competent services, such as workforce development, adult education programs, youth development, and cultural events as well as information and referrals to public or other community partners. We are seeking a candidate with passion in community work to join our team and help our immigrant clients to succeed through QARI’s services and programs.

We have an immediate need for a full-time Human Resources Associate to support the development of the human resources functions for QARI/Wutabon. This position is based in Quincy, MA, but will be partially remote. The position is responsible for supporting HR functions primarily employee recruitment, relations, training and development, and benefits management.

This position is based in MA, and will work closely with the RI and NY teams to establish social service programs for employees through QARI’s Integrated Service team. These services include English Classes, Citizenship Education and Application Services, Career Pathways, and other social services to support employees’ personal and professional growth.

Reports To: Chief People Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit prospective candidates for all open positions and manage a high volume of candidate applications and profiles. Assist CPO with the recruiting, job fairs, community events and onboarding process, including submitting job postings online, scheduling candidate interviews, processing reference & background checks.
  • Manage a high volume of incoming and outgoing phone calls.
  • Interview skillfully and efficiently to assess and pre-qualify or disqualify applicants.
  • Maintain applicant pipelines within the applicant tracking system by updating statuses, inputting notes, etc.
  • Follow up regularly with prospective candidates to build & maintain a relationship throughout the hiring process.
  • Responsible for the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of bi-weekly payroll support.
  • Perform administrative work, including maintaining physical and electronic files, and sorting mail for the Human Resources.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Assists with professional development training.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in human resources, social services, business, finance, accounting, or other appropriate discipline.
  • Three or more years of relevant financial, administrative, and HR experience.
  • Demonstrated Human Resources experience.
  • Experience with MS office and Google suites.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to be able to support a high volume of inquiries and employees.
  • Capacity to multitask, work under pressure, and meet required deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
