The ideal candidate for this position would be:

An Early Childhood Educator who’s passionate about the growth and development of children ages 6 weeks – 5 years.

A professional who strives to enrich each child’s development through play with a nurturing character.

45 hr. infant and toddler/90 hr. preschool certificates preferred, but not required.

Prior classroom experience preferred, but not required.

Willingness to learn new skills and work with the Management Team in building personal professional development. This could include completing trainings and certificates required by Maryland State Department of Education.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

This candidate may be expected to:

Provide lesson planning time to classroom teachers

Cover in a classroom for absent lead teachers

Assist classroom teachers when needed

Prepare daily snacks and handling child-provided lunches

Ensure Goddard's industry-leading Quality Assurance standards are followed at all times during meal prep and while in the classrooms

Meet the individual needs of each child

Communicate appropriately and professionally with families and staff

Interact with the children to support play, exploration, and learning and present expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental

Attend all monthly staff meetings and bi-annual school wide staff trainings
