Program Description: Morris Ave program is an OMH CR, which will provide housing opportunities to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness, forensic history, substance abuse issues, homeless disabled veterans, homeless seniors, and the medically frail. The program will include on-site services such as 24/7 front desk coverage, case management.
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum 3 years experience working in a supportive residential program and/or with individuals with serious mental illness and backgrounds homelessness.
Qualifications and Experience: Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office, and spreadsheets. Knowledge of AWARDS preferred. Experience with individuals with forensic backgrounds. Knowledge of the justice system preferred. Excellent oral and written communications skills; excellent organizational and planning skills; ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of employees, clients and community contacts
Hours: 35 hours per week, variable schedule
Scope of Position:
Under the supervision or the Residence Manager, will help supervise program operations and clinical staff at a building with 20 apartments in the Bronx. Responsible for supervision of staff as well as Case management duties and help to develop an environment that recognizes the effects of trauma on behavior. Able to motivate staff to use Crisis Intervention and verbal de-escalation skills to manage crises. Ensures that services are client determined and driven while meeting funder requirements. Oversees the development and execution of on-site programming and act as a liaison with external client service providers.
Essential Position Functions:
- Directly supervise Residence Counselors. Supervise delivery of services to clients, including admission to the program, ongoing operations, and discharge from the program with supervision of the Resident Manager.
- Ensure that the program is prepared for successful audits and reviews. Complete monthly data collection to monitor services and trends in census, attendance, incidents, and funder outcomes.
- Available on call for 24-hour crisis intervention. Attends meetings as requested and willing to work nights and or weekends as needed.
- Manage personnel activities, including hiring, shift scheduling, developing policies and procedures, staff meetings, case conferences, staff training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions and labor/management issues.
- Perform all required administrative duties, data entry, monitor performance measures, petty cash, monitoring staff attendance along with providing oversight of medication monitoring and logbook documentation.
- Ongoing assessment of building maintenance requirements and serves as liaison with maintenance staff regarding repair needs. Ensure overall management of facility, including repairs and purchasing.
- Serves as liaison with Property Management & Maintenance Department to ensure overall compliance.
- Attend staff meetings, supervision and trainings as required.
- Ability to work with consumers/residents, and staff in a caring and respectful manner, and with due understanding of and consideration for cultural differences.
- Conduct apartment/building inspections on multiple floors, utilizing stairs. Provide escorts to clients throughout the community utilizing public transportation & attend meetings/training off site.
- Immediately reports serious incidents, serious incident allegations, incidents, or sensitive situations to supervisors.
- Any other duties as may be assigned.

Pay: $39,100.00 - $42,000.00 per year
