Job Description
Faculty position in Molecular Biology. We invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Biology from candidates using molecular approaches to address biological questions. We particularly encourage applications from those using plant, invertebrate, microbial, or cell culture systems. The successful candidate will join a dynamic group of biology faculty as well as participate in the interdisciplinary Biochemistry and Biotechnology program. Candidates will be expected to lead an independent, externally-funded research program and teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
UMSL is a leader in partnerships with key institutions in the St. Louis region. Researchers that could collaborate with existing UMSL researchers or those at our partner institutions are especially encouraged to apply. External partners include the Missouri Botanical Garden, the Danforth Plant Science Center, the Saint Louis Zoo, and other St. Louis universities. Within the University, the Biology Department is home to the Whitney R. Harris World Ecology Center, and UMSL is home to the Missouri Institute of Mental Health.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD in an appropriate discipline, relevant postdoctoral experience, a strong publication record and a commitment to excellence in research and teaching.
