Preschool Teacher Job Description

Preschool teachers are responsible for the education and care of children, typically between 3 and 4 years old. They provide physical care while also tending to the emotional and social development of young children. Preschool teachers usually help develop age-appropriate curricula related to developing basic skills and knowledge. They also plan activities for the day and supervise children on the playground or within a caretaking setting.

In addition to a background in early childhood education, preschool teachers should be comfortable communicating directly with parents to report on their child’s progress.
