Job description

Responsibilities

  • Follow technical documentation such as manufacturing procedures, bills of materials, part/assembly drawings and routings to assemble electro-mechanical & electrical assemblies, modules, and medical products.
  • Perform basic soldering and de-soldering; use various hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers. Work under magnification equipment on small assemblies or integrated components when required.
  • Inspect finished products for defects, and document results per established procedures. Perform equipment setup, and in-process inspections to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Discern quality of parts and materials used in production; maintain inventory of parts and tools used in the assembling process.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and QA departments to assure proper assembly & inspection. Support design and fabrication of assembly & test fixtures, and development of written procedures.
  • Maintain good attendance, flexibility on job assignment, adaptable to changing business needs and continually learn and apply new skills.
  • Keep a clean, well-maintained, and safe workspace.

Education & Experience

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of electro-mechanical & electrical assembly experience required.
  • Basic soldering & de-soldering experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with the MS Office applications suite.
  • Working knowledge of ESD practices and procedures preferred.
  • Prior experience in medical device or other regulated industry preferred.
  • Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift at least 35 lbs.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Waltham, MA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • electromechanical assembly: 2 years (Preferred)
  • medical device industry: 2 years (Preferred)
  • soldering: 2 years (Preferred)
