Job description
KDS seeks qualified assembly associates to join our team in Hendersonville, NC. In this position, you will complete daily projects independently or on a team. Projects include assembly, measuring, etc.
Hours for this position are 7 am - 3:30pm with potential overtime. Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses are required.
Responsibilities
- Performs various physical duties as assigned.
- Maintain all safety standards.
- Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials.
- Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the assignment.
- Clean up shop from hazardous or obsolete material
- Work with other employees through all stages of project to make sure that the job is done efficiently
- Handle and transport materials and equipment (e.g. drills and grinders)
- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform tasks
- Help with setting up and transferring temporary structures
- Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Positive attitude and work ethic
- Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
- Work in both climates, inside and outside
- Cross-train in other departments
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication
- Power tool experience (drill, rivet gun, nail gun)
- Metal and/or wood assembly
- The ability to read measurements (tape measure)
- Carpentry experience (preferred, but not required)
- Forklift experience (preferred, but not required)
