SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for ensuring all documentation for FSQA is correct. This position also will serve as a backup for all QA tech and HACCP duties.- Ensure pre-operational inspection of the entire plant is performed daily and within the established timeframe.
- Performs weekly sanitation checks in auxiliary areas of plant.
- Daily review and collecting of process control, pre-operational inspection, QA documentation of all areas, and review daily HACCP paperwork for compliance.
- Correct recording and filing of all relevant documentation.
- Communicate with Supervisors regarding work issues.
- This position will assist in inspections and audits.
- Perform weekly supply checklist and alert Supervisor when supplies need to be ordered.
- Learn and be functional in all QA Technician positions as a backup. Perform direct observation and verification checks as needed with QA techs.
- Perform plant walk through of structural deficiencies and record, this is to be emailed to QA Manager weekly.
- Perform Glass and Brittle Inventory Control and document corrective actions where necessary- monthly
- Perform other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Daily’s Premium Meats business objectives.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate degree in Animal Science, food science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents in the English language such as software documentation, operating and maintenance manuals, general business periodicals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and key files. Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, ability to prepare reports and business correspondence, effectively present information and be able to effectively respond to questions from customers, vendors and internal stakeholders.
REASONING ABILITY AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define and solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply mathematical formulas to practical situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Employee is regularly required to move about the facility standing/walking on concrete floors for 10+ hours per day, 6 days per week. The employee will regularly lift and/or move 30 lbs, seldom lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit, must have hand and finger coordination; handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Standing, stooping, walking, bending, and climbing are all expected physical abilities, with or without accommodations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions or cold temperatures (below 30 degrees). The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Must be able to wear all personal protective equipment.
