SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Ag Production Lead (APL) is a full-time benefited position responsible for overseeing and working with several different areas of the operation on a modern corn, soybean, sunflower and hard red spring wheat farm located in East Grand Forks, MN running newer John Deere and Case IH equipment. The APL will be responsible for overseeing and managing all precision ag data, including creating and implementing maps used in application from spring through fall as well to manage product inventory for application use; this also includes recording all as-applied data. The APL will work with a team to create a plan for farm operations and be included in operating various pieces of farm equipment including sub-surface drain tile installation. The APL must be a team player and is always seeking improvement for themselves and the operation including attending networking opportunities and further training. This is all to assist in raising a productive and profitable crop. Various other job duties may be assigned and asked to be completed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Oversee and manage all precision ag data and make corrections and record all as-applied data (through use of John Deere Operations Center and other such software) accordingly

· Oversee and manage product inventory for application use

· Ability to work with a team to setup and implement plans for seeding, application, harvest, and trucking

· Ability to operate various farm equipment including fertilizer spreader, self-propelled sprayer, combine, tillage, semi-tractor, and other pieces of farm equipment

· Assist with implementation of SOPs

· Assist with field and crop planning including inventory management

· Assist in repairing and maintaining farm equipment and general buildings

· Manage all data and implementation of precision ag in the operation

· Responsible for working with a team to manage sub-surface drainage planning and install

· Willingness to travel for networking and training opportunities

· All other duties assigned

REQUIREMENTS

· Be a team player with a positive attitude and trustworthiness

· Good communicator

· Knowledge of safe workplace practices

· Prior experience and knowledge operating farm equipment

· A willing attitude and desire to learn new skills

· Ability to troubleshoot problems and plan solutions

· A valid driver’s license

· Experience with leading a group of people

· Prior experience with Microsoft Office, ADMS, SMS and John Deere Operations Center preferred, not required

· Experience installing sub-surface drain tile preferred, not required

Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
