Job Description:
The Certificate in Applied Genomics program at the Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) seeks applications for an Adjunct Professor to teach "Epigenomics" in Spring of 2023 (3 credit hours). In this course, executive education students will explore the dynamic world of chromatin, from DNA methylation to histone modifications to topologically association domains. Topics will include how epigenetic modifications can be used to understand and predict phenotype, how functional genomic approaches are used to understand disease etiology and risk, how the epigenome can be modified as a therapeutic strategy, and the challenges of visualizing genome-wide datasets and the use of genome browsers in genomic analysis.
An appreciation for an integrated, team-based approach to learning is especially desired. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to use creative approaches to academic program development, have strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and work effectively in a team environment.

Education and Experience:
Must hold a master's degree, Ph.D. strongly preferred. Experience with epigenomic data sets. Experience in teaching highly desired. Experience in industry or academic research in clinical genomics or bioinformatics is highly desired. An ability to work effectively in a team environment. The candidate chosen for the position will be responsible for planning and teaching a curriculum that supports executive education students' integration of knowledge, skills, and experience to support career development in the field of applied genomics.
This may include, but is not limited to the following:
Teaching and coordinating the 3-credit hour, semester-long course using an online platform
Utilizing the course management platform Canvas to deliver the course effectively
Designing active learning activities to build technical skills
Developing formative and summative assessments
