    TECHNOLOGY ACQUISITION MANAGER

    TITLE: Technology Acquisition Manager

    REPORTS TO: Superintendent's Designee

    SUPERVISES: Assigned Staff

    JOB FUNCTION: Manage the district’s technology purchasing, inventory, licensing, and record keeping processes and procedures including fixed assets, mobile devices, and software. Develop, maintain, and monitor processes and procedures related to the software and hardware purchasing lifecycle including product review, governance, cost estimates and quotes, order management, technology receiving and logistics management, technology distribution, and surplus management.

    MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
    ? Schools can access a complete and up to date list of approved hardware and software
    ? State and district hardware and software standards are comprehensive, easily understood, and available to schools and departments
    ? Technology purchasing, licensing, and inventory processes, procedures, and reports are complete and submitted according to applicable deadlines

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    ? Develop, maintain, and manage technology purchasing and inventory processes and procedures including both hardware and software purchasing.
    ? Lead standing and ad hoc technology standards committees including the hardware and software governance committees.
    ? Develop and maintain technical standards including standard hardware and software packages, purchasing quotes, processes, governance, and procedures.
    ? Promote technology purchasing from minority, women, and veteran business enterprises (MWVBE) when feasible.
    ? Manage list of state and district mandated, state and district approved, district supported, and other approved software and hardware.
    ? Assist with district and state technology reporting including the annual digital readiness report and technology activity report.
    ? Work with financial services to train school and department bookkeepers on the proper use of technology commodity codes.
    ? Maintain records of district, department, and school software licenses and compliance.

    TECHNOLOGY ACQUISITION MANAGER
    ? Maintain positive working relationships with technology vendors.
    ? Manage technology fixed asset inventory, mobile device inventory, and other technology inventory.
    ? Assist with and provide information for internal and external audits.
    ? Demonstrates the ability to communicate in more than one language or the willingness to learn to communicate in more than one language at the novice level of proficiency.
    ? Maintain regular attendance.
    ? Perform other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
    ? Broad knowledge of a wide range of Information Technology systems including a thorough understanding of applying systems analysis processes to meet an instructional or business need
    ? Understanding of technology software, hardware, and networking concepts
    ? Strong technical abilities, combined with understanding of procurement and purchasing best practices
    ? Ability to understand and assess technology systems and applications from both a technical and instructional or business function perspective
    ? Ability to coordinate multiple assignments, conflicting priorities, and diverse needs.
    ? Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and influence teams
    ? Ability to present technical topics to a non-technical audience
    ? Knowledge and understanding of Kentucky Education Technology Systems (KETS) standards
    ? Understanding of the federal e-rate program

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    ? Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
    ? Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
    ? Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
    ? Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights, up to 30 pounds

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    ? Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Education, or related field.
    ? A minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in the technology, financial or education field.
