We are looking for a self motivated remote-based Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. This role will be a combination of accounts payable and accounting functions where you will have the exciting opportunity to work on projects in both areas within Canada and the United States. In this role, you will be working with several different stakeholders and cross functional team members to successfully manage all aspects of spend management. The successful candidate will be the outward facing employee for the accounting function at Uplift.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and represent the finance organization to the broader company. Interpersonal skills, a professional approach, and the flexibility to adjust to the company's dynamic needs are essential for success in this role.

What you will do and achieve

  • Analyze and process accounts payable in a timely manner
  • Assist with spend management in Canada and the United States including handling all incoming bills and vendor relations, inputting bills, coding each bill correctly and following up with the approval chain
  • Ensure all vendors are properly set up in the systems and all corporate credit cards are classified and coded accurately
  • Completes all employee reimbursements from the beginning of the process until final approvals
  • Support the accounting team owning and managing cash transactions and putting into the balance sheet
  • Handles all discrepancies with vendors and employees to ensure a smooth process with the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor Review, monitor, and track expense reports in compliance with company expense policy
  • Reconcile various accounts on a monthly basis to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data on accounts
  • Performs other accounting functions as needed

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or other similar equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of previous accounting and reporting experience with a background in Accounts Payable
  • Experience in fast-paced work environments managing multiple projects and consistently achieving deadlines
  • Possesses knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with external stakeholders and management teams is an asset
  • Detailed-oriented, accurate and dependable
  • Self-starter, independent-worker, proactive and take initiative to take on new projects
  • Experience with ERP systems is a must and experience with Airbase, Quickbooks, Netsuite, Floqast,Excel etc. is a plus
  • Customer service mentality when interacting with partners, vendors and employees is a plus

At Uplift, in accordance with the U.S pay transparency laws across various states, we provide the minimum and maximum pay range for each of our levels. This reflects the minimum and maximum ranges for new hire salaries. There are two ranges that reflect positions across all US locations. The first range includes: New York and California whereas the second range includes all other US states. Within each range, there are several different factors that are considered when determining compensation including but not limited to the candidate's location, title, years of experience, job related skills and relevant education. In addition to the base salary, we offer competitive benefits including medical, dental and vision and pre-ipo stock options.

$30.29 to $35.10 per hour
$28.37 to $33.17 per hour
