Cummings Grayson and Company has been in business for over 45 years and is expanding and need to hire Accountant/ Auditor ASAP. This person will inspect and review, and also prepare and report, financial transactions and budgetary controls for assigned funds and departments. you will audit, and take account of financial records for our clients. In this role, you will plan and engage in financial assessments of business processes, debts, and assets, and determine financial standings while ensuring that best accounting and auditing practices are followed at all times.
To ensure success as a financial auditor, you must be skilled in accounting practices, have an extensive understanding of financial legislation, and be adept at analyzing large or small volumes of data. A top-notch financial auditor can work independently and understands all of the required processes involved in completing successful financial audits.
Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site visits to clients
- Examines assigned financial records and statements for accuracy.
- Analyzes financial data, making recommendations as appropriate to improve accuracy, efficiency, and to reduce costs.
- Inspects the budget and general ledger for assigned departments and accounts, ensuring that funds are available, and expenditures are assigned correctly.
- Reviews and/or assists with preparation of financial statements and records provided to federal, state, and internal auditors and similar personnel.
- Assists with accounting duties for and corrections to listed financial records.
- Identifies and recommends updates to accounting systems and procedures.
- Preparation of annual financial reports.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Prepare AUP reports which includes visiting the schools to perform Audit services
- Research companies in detail prior to commencing the auditing process
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Expert knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient with accounting software. (QuickBooks)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Proficient in Excel
- Ability to work according to tight deadlines
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
- At least two years of related experience is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
