Job description
Summary:Join an established electrical contracting company as an Accountant! This is a new position, working closely with project managers to ensure project expenses are tracked and billed, and ensure accurate project results.
This role will operate onsite on the east side of Madison. Hours are Monday-Friday between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Pay is $55,000-70,000 depending on experience. Competitive benefits package offered.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, track, and analyze all job costs; create job cost/analysis reports
- Manage change orders and related costs
- Prepare, process and follow up on fixed price and time and material billings
- Set up contract jobs and service jobs in accounting software
- Enter, review, and manage purchase orders and vendor invoices
- Manage subcontract agreements
- Enter and transfer costs as needed for contract jobs and service jobs
- Assist with RFPs including bid forms
- Serve as direct contact for assigned projects; respond to customer requests
- Act as resource for internal customers with accounting related project data
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
- 3+ years of directly related Accounting experience
- Experience in construction industry preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate and collaborate professionally
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to occasionally travel to other offices or job sites
- Ability to navigate construction job sites with or without accommodation
