Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accountant. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge in general ledger accounting; month-end closing and financial report preparation; computer skills including advanced use of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; internal control processes; problem solving and root cause analysis; and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
This is a full-time onsite position located at our offices in Mason County, WV.
Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational in 2025. The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in Accounting or related field
- 1 year of experience in Accounting or Finance
- Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Accounting experience in steel or other related manufacturing industries
- Two or more years of experience in Accounting or Finance
- Oracle EBS experience
