The Youth
Care Professional is responsible for providing direct care supervision for teens
14 -19 years of age residing in Kyle's Place, fostering an environment that facilitates academic achievement, life skills, and behavioral management in a Transitional Living Setting.
The Youth Care professional will maintain a flexible, organized, and efficient work schedule and understand appropriate boundaries when interacting with youth. Essential Functions: Provide Direct Care Services to teens to ensure that ratios and appropriate supervision levels are continuously met as per state and federal requirements.
- Develop positive rapport with teens while serving as a role model to create a safe and caring environment acting within appropriate boundaries.
- Ensure all forms and clients' services are properly completed to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Observe, report and document identified behavior patterns and required information that merit documentation such as: behavior of concern forms, food logs, transportation logs and bed check logs.
Transportation of teens to events, medical appointments, school, work or other activities with the ability to drive a 15 passenger van.
Other duties as assigned as needed.
Other Functions: Attend all organizational required trainings.
Attend departmental and program meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information of policy changes or practice are adhered to.
- Be able to assist in the distribution of medications to teens as prescribed by Medical Provider.
- Maintain a safe, clean and hazard-free facility. Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Minimum of one (1) year experience working with youth through paid positions.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule.
- Clean criminal background check from appropriate entity
- Cleared Tuberculosis test results.
- Cleared drug test results
- Must have a clear driving record ( no DUI's, No DWI's)
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have a Texas Drivers License of obtain one within 60 days of employment
- Must be at least 25 years of age at the time of hire.
Physical Demands: Must be able to supervise teens indoors and outdoors throughout the duration of their shift period, which lasts 8 hours or more on a typical shift. Must be able to stand, bend, or stoop for the entire duration of the shift, as necessary. Must be prepared and physically able to respond with appropriate protocol in a variety of dynamic supervision situations with clients of 14-17 years in age. In a sudden or emergency event, staff must be at all times physically able to run, jump, lunge, twist, push, pull. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
All staff must be physically and mentally able to manage teens who become uncooperative, sick, violent, or display any other form of harmful or threatening behavior.
Must be prepared to administer emergency First Aid, CPR or TRBI techniques to clients, regardless of the time of day or hour of the staff’s shift, the size of the client, or the staff’s level of personal fatigue.
Staff must be able to maintain clarity of thought throughout the entirety of a shift and be able to respond quickly to duress or circumstances requiring immediate action. Work
Environment: This is a twenty-four hour Residential campus (19 beds) both male and females. There are three shifts per twenty-four hour period. Hours and duties of work shifts are subject to change. The noise levels varies from mild to moderate.

Pay: $16.15 - $19.00 per hour
