Position Summary: The Yellow Iron-Heavy Equipment Mechanic will play an integral part in the daily operations of the assigned location. They will operate and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on our heavy equipment and vehicles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and vehicles.

· Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment and vehicles.

· Knowledge of construction equipment including transmissions, engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

· Strong repair experience with diesel engines.

· Complete necessary paperwork, including detailed work orders and documenting needed repairs.

· Required to work in our facility and perform offsite equipment repairs at project locations.

· Perform safety checks on equipment.

· Must be familiar with OSHA regulations.

· Attend training and meetings when necessary.

· Adheres to company work safety policies.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Regular attendance is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· 2+ years of experience as a mechanic. Welding experience is a plus.

· Valid NYS drivers’ license.

· Regular attendance is required.

· Must be able to multitask and pay attention to detail.

· Must have ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work well with others in a demanding environment.

· Must be able to perform job functions in a safe and responsible manner.
